Can you respond to the reviews on Google My Business? And if so, is it even a good idea?
Hi! My name is Kelsey, and I am an Entrepreneur and Google Certified Expert. Today, we’re going to discuss reviews on Google My Business.
If you didn’t already know, you can absolutely respond to reviews that people leave for your business through your Google My Business page. To do this, you’ll need to be an Administrator of your verified GMB profile. Once a review has been posted, log in to your Google My Business account and navigate to the reviews section within your dashboard. Scroll to the review you want to reply to and click “respond.”
Responding quickly is always good news for your business. That’s because it shows people leaving reviews that you care about their positive or negative feedback.
Also, be sure that when replying to a review, you leave a keyword in your response. This will help improve your SEO rankings with Google, especially if you repeatedly utilize the same keyword in your responses.
While you might lean into a “typical” response, switch up your language from review to review enough that Google recognizes different replies—this can also contribute to better SEO rankings.
One last thing to keep in mind is that your responses are public. So, not only can the person you’re responding to see them—so can the rest of the world. Keeping a professional tone in all positive and negative interactions will go a long way in attracting new customers for your business.
